WHAT IS RESTYLANE LYFT?
Restylane Lyft (formerly known as Perlane) is the most structured member of the Restylane family of fillers. Lyft is a thick HA (hyaluronic acid) based dermal filler that achieved FDA approval in 2015 for replenishing volume in/contouring of the mid-face region, correcting nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles, and augmenting cheeks in adults over 21. If severe volume loss in the mid-region of the face coupled with gravity are making you look old and dreary, Lyft is the perfect pick-me-up.
WHY IS RESTYLANE LYFT?
As a member of the well-known and trusted Restylane family of fillers from Galderma, Lyft is skillfully formulated and impressively the only filler approved for both cheek and nasolabial indications. Further, the larger HA particles in Lyft allow for a firmer texture that is good for filling deeper-set lines and contour deficiencies. Lyft injections, along with sculpting the mid-region of the face, also improve skin elasticity for an overall natural and rejuvenated glowy look.
WHICH AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Restylane is able to establish fullness in the mid-face region, contour the mid-face region, lift the cheekbone area, restore volume to hollow cheeks, smooth nasolabial folds (those from the nose to the corner of the mouth), and overall conduct a non-invasive liquid facelift.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TREATMENT?
In our office we provide our filler clients with complimentary Arnica, an oral medication that greatly reduces the occurrence of bleeding, bruising and/or swelling during and after treatment. This should be taken starting 2 days before treatment.
Please refrain from taking any blood thinners, or anti-inflammatory medication, which includes Advil, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, Vitamin E, etc. about a week before treatment. This also reduces the chance of bleeding, bruising, and swelling. Please avoid alcoholic drinks for about 24-48 hours before treatment.
Before treatment, clients are encouraged to come in for a complimentary consultation with one of our Nurses to discuss targeted treatment and determine the best treatment for each client’s individual needs. After booking, clients should refrain from taking any blood thinners right before treatment. This should be consistent avoidance of things like Advil, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oil, and even alcoholic drinks for about a day or two before coming to get filler injections. Further, our office provides complimentary Arnica (an oral medication that reduces the likelihood/prevents bruising, swelling, and bleeding during treatment) to our clients, and they can start taking it a day or two before their treatments.
During treatment, our Nurses will initially put a topical numbing agent on the treatment area before commencing injections. The comfort of our clients is a priority at DermaFashion. Treatment should be about 30-60 minutes total. Our Nurses will be sure to address client concerns and needs during treatment through multiple examinations following each injection to assure evenness and appropriate targeting of problem areas.
After treatment, it will take about a month to see the full final result, but many clients have been able to see initial results immediately after treatment. However, it is important to be patient for the full results to reveal themselves. There is not much downtime following treatment, and any side effects clients may experience should dissipate after a few days. Clients can resume everyday activities the day after treatment, but should refrain from strenuous physical activity, exercise, extensive sun exposure, blood thinners, and alcoholic drinks for about 24 hours post treatment.
